hmm .. was wondering, how to chrome something?
i wanna remove the handles on the outside of the car, and make them chrome .. bling? or ghetto?

i seem to be getting a lot of weird ideas lately ..

you can go to any body shop, and they usually send out those parts to be chromed... it's very, very expensive to do though... for just your door handles, it may cost anywhere up to $200 depending on the place... i tried to ask the machine shop at my work to do some, but they started laughing at me and expected me to pay for it... damn large-scale-family-owned-businesses...

just phone up a body shop that sends out their stuff, even call a place that does it themselves... maybe you can get a good price, i don't know...

don't quote me on that price, but i was looking into chroming some of my engine components, but i saw the cost that i would incurr...

let me know if you get a solid price, or if you need help locating someone who can get that done for you...

My advice is get the plastic, sticker stuff. Let it grow on you see if you actually like it or not before you spend what can end up being a great deal of money.

In the spirit of CarDemon...

can you just get the foil insides from packs of smokes, and rub that onto the handles... should shine up and stick relativly well...

LoL .. too funny .. is that what CarDemon would have really said? Let us wait for his answer ...

CruisinBlackP5 .. where can i get this plastic stuff?

BumbleG .. about ur comment...it would be great if someone could give us an answer .. but i think it does sound like u're right tho .. so maybe i've gotta go CruisinBlackP5's route?

It comes in rolls like that fake CF stuff and window tint. Check those isles at your local store. It should be available. Worst case you could buy some mirror tint on a roll and see if that works. Doesn't folia tec or someone make a door handle kit, with plastic chrome style pieces?

You can get sticky chrome foil that is used for model cars.
It goes down around curves and burnishs to the door handle.
Convincing in 1/24 scale. Should look better on 1:1.
Good hobby stores carry is. Bare-Metal® Foil is its name.
Must be clean underneath.
