Hey guys.
I was looking for a change in my tail lights, but I feel that Altezzas are played out. I saw a pic of a set of APC's on a toilet blue P5 here once. They were gray & looked eaily paintable to match the colour of the car, However, I've look for these with no luck. I think that it's either not released or not in Canada yet.
However, this brought another idea to mind. Is there a way to pop open the altezzas & paint the chrome part of the lens to match the colour of the car?
Protege5 kid, I know you saw these in Markham, does it look like it would work? My fear is that you would be able to see where you glued the thing back together due to the clear plastic all around.
What are you thoughts, guys?

Bumblebee, I just saw your ride on CarDomain.com. I got the same leather http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I have to admit, those rims look sweet on the car. I've seen pics of MANY P5's with different rims on them. It seems that most rims just don't work on the car, which is why I'm gonna have a hard time deciding when the time comes. Luckily, this coming Spring, I'll be focusing on the system. Rims won't come for a while.
Once again, kudos on the rims! They look great!!!!

If you were really crafty i would incourage you to mod those Altezza's but for 325$ may as well wait for the ones you like.
Honestly those Altezza's really didn't look that great...i didn't want to run out and put in on my car..unlike other wicked thing availbe for our cars...don't get me wrong if i see someone with them, i'll big them up...it's all about personal preference!

here's what i came up with (very quickly) on the tails from the light blue P5 (the grey tail lights)
http://www.loseyourmind.ca/toprotege/yellowapc.jpg
I did this fast, so the colors aren't exactly on or anything, but you can get an idea... (and note that there is a clear lens at teh bottom of the unit, that i forgot to leave clear, and thus it became yellow like the rest of the lights exterior)
i would have tried to do the regular altezzas but i doubt i'd get it to look at all like it would IRL, so it would be kinda pointless to try.

hey otter, not too bad... even with the yellow turn signal (that was supposed to be clear)... it wouldn't look that bad... i've even seen someone paint their stock taillights body colour to look similar to that...
Phil... did u get the heated seats with them?? that saved my back over last winter, and since i don't have an autostarter, those seats warm me up in the morning fast!!
thanks for the compliment on the rims... i'm not too much of a flashy guy, and constency (as some of you know) is what i like on a car, so the yellow bands on the tires, the seats, and everything else goes great...
i have to put up some pics of my system still on that page, never got my hands on a digicam yet... will do soon....

Not a bad Paintshop job! I LIKE!!! My only fear will be the circles poppin' off with the system!
Bumblebee, no I didn't get the heated seats. I didn't even think about that until after the fact!!! But I should be okay. I may get an autostarter eventually. Maybe in the spring instead of a simple alarm. Also, I was thinking of starting a posting on here & the protege5.com site on rims & which look good on the P5. Basically, ask for opinions & see what members will post as options. Since you have a wicked set & a pic, maybe you can start it off.
Just a thought http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Those APC tails are the best by far. As for the best looking rims, these are them. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
