Anyone here running an Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge / Sender Unit? I was at Dave Wood the other day and they noticed there was major oil leakage from the sender unit. They took it out and noticed it was only screwed in two threads deep! The size is actually slightly larger than the stock unit so it doesn't thread all the way in. Anyone know how to fix it aside from re-tapping the sender unit?!

are you threaded into the stock location?

The autometer is threaded 1/8 NPT, the stock location is threaded 1/8 BSPT. Even though NPT should thread into BSPT OK, it's not as good as if they're both NPT (different thread angles I believe). Did you use silicon tape or thread sealant (the better choice IMO)? Might it have worked it's way loose?

As Tiwing mentioned, did you use an adaptor fitting?

IMO, the best thing to do is relocate the sender using SS braided line.  This is the route I am now taking with the replacement sender I just recieved from Autometer, my orginial sender was defective.
