TOP is in need of a new Events Coordinator for the quickly approaching 2005 season. We would like to continue to have many great events such as last year, and we have 2 enthusiastic candidates that have confirmed that they would like to run for the position.

This thread is being opened for Johnny5 to introduce himself and what he would like to accomplish should he be chosen to fill the position.

How this is going to work
* Johnny5 Introduces himself and gives his blurb
* thread is open for questions from any members
* thread will be open until Feb. 23rd
* From Feb. 24th - Feb. 27th the Officers will vote
* Feb. 28th our new Events Coordinator will be ennounced

** Please do not use this thread as a "I second this vote", "I third this vote" etc. type of thing. Just ask questions. Any posts such as this will be deleted to keep things on track.

Well let me see now, My own thread that can't be locked muhahahahahahahahaha! http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

Well lets see here,

For those of you who don't know me, I am Johnny5. I drive an 03 blue P5 and it is pretty.
I am a Westside OG from the Davey-age and maintain the ideals of of his reign.

Qualifications
- Organized Kingston Meet
- Attend every Major meet available
- Fought with most of the current officers
- Not scared to drive my car (that is what it is for! )
- Enjoy showing, racing, eating and drinking, multi facited I am.
- Already been kicked out of the officers lounge once
- very well known by many members and in the business of cars.
- Normally not too many unreadable spelling mistakes in my posts.

Goals
- Try and get this club a little more focused on the cars.
- Organize events that leverage the specialties of some members. (i.e. AutoX events)
- Help local businesses and charities to raise awarness of our club.
- Leverage other clubs to promote larger and more intense events.
- make events that appeal to all members from newbies to OG's

Tactics
These are some ideas I have been batting around in my head when the voices stop.
- Long Distance cruises that could last overnight. (camping, Ottawa, Niagra falls etc.)
- fundraising cruise to collect toys for kids or food for Daily Bread Food Bank
- Assist Pgirls in Car wash drive with help, money, BBQ, music.
- Use my experienece in Public Relations to attempt to gain media exposure for our events.
- Club AutoX day where Rowan, Super Dave and Bestie boy Mike Moss help newbs learn autoX
- Drag Day all drive to Cayuga, Maybe for MOMIII?
- Group meet and discount at the new Nascar Track in Vahgn Mills
- Possible fun parties at Lucid Night Club, (my friend is a manager there)

These are some of my idea's, the more I think about it the more fun it will be. I am very interested in people getting the excitment that even my friends who don't drive Mazdas get out of this club. We have a lot of resources available through members, we need to lean on their expertise to experience everything that is available.

My Key Message: Cars are meant for driving, get off the computer, get outside and drive!

Events co-ordinator can be a very time consuming possition, are you able to devote, or have enough free time to make each event as successful as possible?

We have thrown around the idea of the E.C. having a 'team' for setting up events. How would you be at organizing/managing a team?

(same question will be given to Brian)

Well having organized a few events at my house (installs), Montana's, and Kingston I am very adapt at handling teams. I have experience in Business Management from Humber College and work in a firm that is diveded into teams. This is my life. It is all I do.

Teamwork, no problem. But I could do it by myself and sometimes find that that is easier because a chain is only as strong as the weakest link. If something falls through I want to know that the only person to blame is me.

And having the available time is not an issue? (Sometimes organizing events can eat up all your free time, and it would be nice to have an E.C. who has some.)

Time is not an issue. Even at work I am infront of a computer with a phone beside me, no problem!

Self admittedly, you are a controversial member and have been kicked out of the officers lounge. While in my mind that is probably a good thing, as an events co-ordinator you will be faced with many different opinions and you will be pulled in many different directions. What can you say to reassure us that you will do your best to work WITH the officers and other members during the planning of events and not stir too much sh!t?

Not much.....

Those of you who know me know that my arguments are based on a lack of rationale. I only end up in fights where the other person is being illogical. I hope there won't be problems but lets be honest, ther will be arguments and fighst and other lovely things, wouldn't you rather have someone who will stand up for what they feel is right or in the best interest of the members?

If not, well what can I say, I am a shit disturber http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif

Listen,

1) There will be chicks, and are there any other kind than nekkid?
2) just cause you wanna hang out with moped ugly girls, dosen't mean we want to.
3) Never Diss the circle, it is holy and needs to be treated with respect!
4) My first meet will be come out and see me throw other shiet in Hwy Demons eyes! And if he fights back, We'll kick his A$$! For a fin, others can throw stuff at you too!

Bottom line, what car club doesn't involve the questionable ethics of women? I will promote generally wholesome meets but if I choose to drive to a local parlour to enjoy some of the modern dancing arts and others choose to come along, well now how can I be held responsible? http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
