View Full Version : Cold air extension for those with a Ractive intake

I got a cold air extension piece that turns that Ractive Intake into an Injen setup where the filter is located down in the fenderwell to take advantage of the cold air available. It gives a deep throaty growl and makes more usable power at low rpms, and a ferocious scream at high rpm. Injen performance for less than a 1/4 of the price. Bolt onto the P5 Ractive kit easily. It's made of welded stainless steel, and is polished. There's also a bracket welded to it like the AEM that bolts on to the area near the coolant resovoir bottle so that it stays in place. No weak and flimsy bracket to deal with. Rubber couplings, and metal clamps included.
Anyone interested, please reply to the post. Prices are negotiable so give me your offers.
I'm in the Toronto area.

My girlfriend didn't like the growly sound it made so I went back to stock.

My AEM short ram looks similar to the Ractive. I have the shorter version to accommodate the auto tranny. Would this sleeve slide right onto the AEM and fit without a required mod?
If so, I'm interested. How much?
I see you're looking for a K&N drop in. I used one for a month until I got the AEM short ram and it's sitting in the original box in my garage. I paid $69 + taxes ($80) at Parts Source. Maybe we could barter.

don't think it would fit your AEM. the ractive cold air extension needs to bolt onto a filter equipped with a ractive heat shield. crappy picture... but it looks like this:

I'm not too sure about the design on the AEM, there's an automatic and manual type, but I think neither will fit. I'm interested in the barter, but you wouldn't want something that doesn't work, right?
The cold air extension doesn't need to bolt onto a Ractive filter with heatsheild. Rather it bolts onto the second piece of the aluminum pipe where the filter was orginally attached, and then it trails down the the fenderwell area like the Injen and the filter goes there.
I don't want to set a price yet since I didn't get a pic up yet. But it will be in the CAN$70 range.

it wont fit the AEM auto tranny cuz there's no room at where the cold air filter suppose to go, that's why the AEM for auto is so short while stick is so long. the transmission is located at the bottom front right, so the filter cant go there
AEM would of used the same one as standard for auto and stick if it worked
