I started my car this morning and the fan wasn't working. It only came on when I put it to full blast. Ever happened to anybody? Heat and A/C works though.

I was having a problem like that a while back. I would turn the dial on the fan and nothing owuld happen, I would work it back and forth and would be fine. Kind of like it was stuck between the numbers.
It must be a problem with the dial!

Not an electric issue, but my car takes forever now to fully warm up.
Usually by the time I get to the highway the car is nice and warm, but now it's not like that.
Even now on the not-so-cold days.

I've never experienced my fan not working, but in cold weather it makes a horrible squealling sound until the car warms up. Does that happen to anyone else? Is it worth taking it in to be looked at, or will they tell me it's standard with a cold car, until it heats up?

Is it the fan or belt?

Problem happened on a grand prix, seemed to be the switch, turns out the motor could only be on or off (on needed to be full)and the switch was fine damn GMs. Check the switch before you go to the dealer.

btw - I'm referring to the air vents... there is a fan in there, right?

That happened to my GMC truck. The AC wouldn't work when you turned the switch onto it. But if you turned it back and forth for a while it started working... Now it works fine all the time. Try that.

Proboy,
are you talking about the interior not heating up? or the car in general?
If it's the inside of the car. ie the temp gauge is half way but the heater doesn't blow hot air.
Check the cable that controls the heat/cold.
It's located in the passagers footwell. stick your head down there look up near the centre consol. you will see thishttp://www.zapwizard.com/Car/air/cable1.jpg
you can follow some of the instructions in THIS THREAD (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90720&highlight=heat+control) to help you out.
The cable may have come off the white spindal. or the metal cable holder could have come loose.

i just noticed that recently. Â it does sound like a belt though. mine only comes on when i put on the defrost/windshield setting... whatever you wanna call it
it goes away when i rev the engine and when the car is warmed up.
