Ok Boys and Girls as you may or may not know Kris our events coordinator has resigned.

He has done a great job organizing the Official club events over the last year and we would like to see someone step up and fill his shoes in a similar fashion.

This is a really big job and will take bit of time but the other officers are here to help

What's Involved?
* Welcome new members to the board
* Organize the Official monthly events
* Schedule these event accordingly
* Create new and exciting events to go along with the list of annual events that the club currently participates in
* Co-ordinate with the area reps for pre-meets to Official Club Events
* Participate in regular Officers meetings
* Moderate posts within the board

How this is going to work
* Anyone can nomiate a person
* Self-nominations ARE allowed
* This thread will be moderated
* All eligible Candidates MUST be within the GTA
* For now, just ONE nomination per candidate (if you see someone has already been nominated, do not bother nominating them again)
* Nominations will close Feb 5 midnight
* All nominated candidates will need to quote the post they are nominated in and state accepted or not accepted
* Starting Feb 5 I will create a new thread allowing the candidates to introduce themselves and their goals should they be elected closing on Feb 12
* the officers will elect from the members who have been nominated starting Feb 12

List of Nominees to date:

cruisinblackp5 - Declined
tiwing - Declined
Johnny5 - Accepted (sort of)
Diddy -
Si_1 -

I would like to nominate MARK crusingblackp5

I know he's an officer and all but I don't think he has a "title" per say. Mark's an extremely enthusiastic member of this board and fairly knowlegeable and most certainly organized (As per the mini-meets he arranges) Now I'm not sure if he can be nominated or not? but if he CAN then MARKY for Events-Coord! http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

We should be looking for a wee bit of LEADERSHIP, MATURITY, CHARISMA, LOGISTICS MINDED, BUSINESS ORIENTED, ORGANIZED, outgoing personality LIVE and in-person with some public speaking abilities. This is even a bigger role to fill now that the club is in its twilight years.

I would seriously consider that 2 people be nominated. One as Prime Events Co-ordinator and the Assistant. The creativity, networking and negotiating top notch meets and the administrative work behind it to keep up K-Dawgs quality now should be considered.

This is one position here at the TPC that is the LIFEBLOOD AND SPIRIT!!!....SO NOMINATE WISELY

So Mike are you nominating yourself? http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

As for 2 people to fill this role, we have discussed it and feel that who ever fills this position will be able to handle it themselves, such as KDawg did. Besides, they are going to have the help of ALL the officers behind them.

just to be advised. this is a 1 person job. we are going to be looking for a team after the fact for that person to choose.
but for right now, this is a 1 person nomination

Sorry! I didn't want to come off as arrogant. You guys know best. I just want to ensure some topnotch events are carried on and the COMRADERIE come back to the club like the Dave N Buster Days, The Bubble Tea Meet and the Hamilton-Niagara Cruise where we rolled 30Deep like Iraqi Insurgents.

I just remember and experienced helping the TPC 1st Annual Pic-Nic, some WRC Cruises and the Jerk Pit Dinner Meet and there is alot of hassel and that was small scale.

Good luck to those that are in the running. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

It's a huge task no doubt, but there's plenty of help to be given. Every officer is willing to lend a helping hand. I know I'm available at his/her beck and call. There's already idea's floating around for monthly meets. Good luck to all nominations.

I dont know if he would be interested or not but in addition to the people already mentioned I think that Tiwing would be great for this. He has good intentions of making this club better, is very easy to get along with, always helping people and he seems very organized. He did quite a few mini meets last year, and he is well respected.

Jamie, thank you for the nomination and the kind words. I respectfully decline the nomination -

I have offered assistance to a couple of other officers which will keep me plenty involved with the club in a more "behind the scenes" way... and I don't want to take on something that has so much importance for the visibility and reputation of the club if I can't fully dedicate myself to it.

Again, thank you. Good luck to all those who wish this position for themselves!

Unfortunately I'm like Kevin on this one. I just dont have the time. I have been spending a lot of time on the board over the last few months since Ive been out of work from my accident but as soon as I can get back to it I will be and really wont have much time to do this position justice

I was thinking about who is old school in this club and loves to drive (and who has the support of his woman). Who wants to bring back some of the true original club stuff (from what I understand), and someone who could bring some of the old enthusiasm to the newer members. Someone who is active on the show or race scene to add some authenticity to who he is and what he stands for .... Someone with a rebel attitude and the balls to stand by what he believes. I can't think of anyone who would be better to rep the club as en events coordinator than Johnny5 - Bring the revolution to the people!!!

Another person which I could see head up somthing this important to our club and obviously has the organizations skills to handle this. Has been an avid member of this board for a while, well before my time, and very personable individual, that doesn't hesistate to inform his fellow TOP buddies, I would like to nominate Eric - E Diddy for position of Events Co-Ordinator

I appreciate the nomination. It is very humbling to be reminded that peole think you have the ability to perform in this role. I, however, feel that I do not display the political correctness or patience for this position. There must be someone more interested in the grand scheme of fun for all. I am not declining but I feel there are people better suited for this role than myself. I would like to see someone more like Si-1 to take this role. He is always interested in the events booked and attends as many as possible. I only attend what I will find interesting and that is not enough.

Gen1 GT- Josh http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

He used to be in like Pat Quinn and down like James Brown from out of Hamilton. He spent countless kilometers attending GTA meets. He put together the intial true TPC Cruise from Hamilton to Niagara. At the end his sister accommodated around 20+ of us with a huge layout of finger food sandwiches and munchies.

The TPC Spirit was alive and well that day and it brings a tear to my eye to see it slip away. I still get flash backs like a Vietnam vet though.

THEN THE CIVIL WAR CAME.

I believe we're trying to stay away from that. That would involve a double work load for Myk, as he would have to do his current position as well as this one. Even if a current officer would like this position it would only lead to having to have their old position filled to avoid the double workload.

Myk is doing a great job as promotions officer...

Events Coordinator is a big job as well and having one person dedicating his time to it will keep that person busy. You all probably saw how dedicated KDawg was to it. We need somebody who is enthusiastic and willing to organize awesome events.

I appreciate the props Mike, but I've nearly completely separated the car aspect from the social aspect of car clubs. I'd still very gladly organize cruises and drag days, but you won't see me back at Treasures any time soon.... http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I mentioned this to Jason (YP5) a couple days ago since I thought this was closed, but if it's still open consider me interested!

Thanks Kris!

I promise not to make all events racing related... there will be a couple events reserved for non race activity... http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

but on a more serious note, i've got several ideas, both car and not so car related...

I am glad that you stepped up to the plate and I am sure you will do a great job just like Kris did http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
