So I was in Pac Mall today (Jan 04) and went in to one of my accessory shops that I go to once and awhile and came across these Angel Eye inserts like the BMW's have. They cost like $35 and come with two big circles/halo's and two small circles/halo's. They look pretty easy to install all you have to do is place them in the headlight assembly (would have to take the headlight assembly apart) and either hook it up to a switch or somehow tap into the headlights. Thought someone out there might want to know.

Roy, what diameter are the angel eyes?

I wouldn't mind trying something with those.

I heard things like that break all the time. Not those EXACT ones but angel eyes in general. I know a guy that has them on a civic n he says its all for show. The rest of the time they break constantly.

Yeah, I know a guy who bought the fog lights with the angel eyes on them and the angel eyes stopped working after a couple of weeks.

Is it the one where you take the plastic thing and heat it up to bend it? then pake little slices in it. hook it up to some LEDs? I think i've read that before. I wanted to try it but I don't want to risk messing up my headlights. If you ever do it post some pics and maybe i'll give it a try too.

If you guys are going to invest the time to DIY you really might want to take a look at these. They are LED's in super bright white/blue. They look to be good quality and they seem to be easy to install the wiring is straight forward. For $35 + tax try these first. The only issues I for see with these products is opening the headlight assembly. A friend of mine bought the real BMW Halo kit and that cost essentially $400 and he got pretty much the same things in the kit with the exception of the harness which makes it even easier to hook up.

Might as well do all this if you are going to bother to open the headlight...

Recently, I bought a set of civc projectors and took the angel eyes out to put in my new 3. Jon/Quality Control bought the rest of the unit for the Projector ballasts to retrofit into his P5.

Ill have pics in the spring and im sure Jon will when he gets it done too!

BTW, the real CCFL BMW halos are being sold on www.mazda3forums.com by a guy for $120USD/pair including harness.

Yes I will be attempting a retrofit eventually to fit HID's in the projectors as obender did.
