taken from Proboy's write up (http://www.toprotege.com/resources/carmods/):
"All cars are required to have two side-by-side headlamps that are either white or amber."
I'm going to go yellow on my fog lights anyhow, but, Does this mean that Yellow headlights are OK?

I was watching the 24 hours of lemans last year and I loved the yellow xenon headlights on some cars.
I asked my friend who is a ppel cop and he said that yellow headlights is legal.
I just wouldn't want the hassle so I chickened out. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
(Im getting yellow high beams for sure though)

Hmm. yellow headlights, white fogs. .... I wish the sedan had two bulbs now! I'm gonna make a copy of the pertinent section of the HTA after Christmas to carry with me in the car, and buy some Xenon yellows!! *GRIN*

Hey Guys,
Save your money. I had the yellow bulbs in my civic years back and the visibility with them is less then the stock IMO. They look cool when you see them on a car coming towards you but the lighting you get from them isn't worth the money. They still burn out quick but not as quick as some of the other 'white' aftermarket ones.

Yes you can have actual AMBER headlamps.

Thats cuz the yellow lights are supposed to be used when it's foggy outside. Since they don't light up the road as much that means that you can see thru fog better but still have some light. Tons of cars have them in europe.

Yellow/Amber "fogs" cut through haze/fog/water precipitation better than white light.
White light will bounce between water molecules more and cause more haze.
I think I said that right.

is it true that the p5's high beam (9005) uses 55w? If so, then I don't think these Nokya's will be useable.

Eric, already on my list http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Also, if it's 55W or 50W makes no difference. If it's a bigger bulb it will simply draw more power. If you were to put a 20W bulb in it would also work, just wouldn't be as bright. ... if you put in a 100W bulb it would work too, but then you run the risk of fried wires and an electrical fire - If you upgrade to 100W bulbs, it's strongly suggested that you also change your wiring harness to larger gauge wires (which you can buy off the shelf in upgrade kits)

Are you just doing ur fogs? Wouldn't it be better to have ur regular headlights match ur foglight? Not saying there's anything wrong with yellow. Just looks kinda wierd when the bottom is yellow and the top is white on a blue car http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Unless you only plan on using them when there's fog and not all the time like everyone else does. I mean if you like the look of the GT cars then why not. It's not like its a major mod that you can't easily remove anyway. Still in the end it's up to you. I just didn't know if you thought about that or not.

that's the official LED group by from Autolumination. Please either post in that thread or send me a PM if you want to have stuff added.
My fogs are inside the upper the grill on either side of the Mazda symbol. I may swap them out in the spring for the same sized driving lights... I'm getting yellow for my fogs, and yellow H4 for the high and low beams (sedan is one bulb). I'm going to try them out in the headlights and see how it goes. May have yellow headlights and white driving/fogs, or yellow both, or whatever combination gives the best visibility. who knows... it's a "cheap" experiment with the discounts we're getting from autolumination... 40% now that the GB is over $1500...

Definite difference in this rain weather.

Chris,
Hit this link and go to the Mazda Section.
They have clear, smoke, amber, and a blur tint one that makes your lights look like HID.
BlueZoom has those ones and they look good.
But for a silver car like yours, definately get the ambr.
They are subtle when off by brilliant when on.
Best thing I have added to my car ever.......well next to the stains your Mom left. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif
