Hey Nole.. Like I mentioned to you at the MX-3 meet, my friend's shop has a Civic front lip he's trying to sell for around $50. I'm gonna test-fit it and see if it's worth the hassle. I'll let you know if the modifications are minimal and if so, I'll let you know so I can have your input. Thanks in advance, Nole !

Nole, the Civic front lip will fit with some minor modifications, mostly the ends. I'll most likely buy it and have asked my friend to set it aside for me.

Chops, it looks good but will look even better if I change my bumper to the J-Spec ones (sweet on the G2), but then a lower lip is available at Corksport and was specifically designed by Mazdaspeed to go along with the J-Spec bumper kit. Sorry no pics yet 'cuz I just test-fitted it at my buddy's shop, but hopefully I can get everything custom-fitted in time for our next meet.

Hey, what's up, Eric? Haven't heard from you lately on your civic front lip spoiler. How is it going? Check out Mike's custom front lip (posted with pictures and steps), not too shabby, huh?

Hey Nole... Yeah, I saw Chops' new lip mod and frankly, not bad at all ! You guys did an excellent job and I may be your next customer.... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif As for the Civic lip, I have to cut the corners and re-shape it to fit properly, otherwise it's not a bad mod. Just haven't got the time for it...

Chops... Do you have the Corksport J-spec front bumper? i'd really like to see a pic of it.. i looked at the pic on the site.. but it doesn't show the whole car.. i have a 98, which year were you getting, cause i think the 95-96 is different..

also if you know of anyone who has put a civic kit on a protege in the T. area, i'd love to see pics and info on where and how it was done...

thanks,
Tim

Bestrafe,

I have a 2002 Pro5. You must have confused me with Eric. He has a 95-96 2nd Gen Protege. Not sure if he has a lip or anything.

You can see my custom lip here: http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin....;t=1093 (http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=16;t=1093)

I have a 97 G2 and I was considering to do the Civic front lip but it needs some modifications (just don't have the time to put it all together). As for the Corksport J-spec conversion, you'll have to get the 97-98 kit as the the 95-96 is quite different. I believe in order to add a lip on the 95-96, you actually need the J-spec bumper as well. The 97-98 kit is more straight-forward...

I think i'll just stick with the corksport for the 98.. a civic would look sweet.. but then i'd get the feeling like i wish i had a civic. No thanks.

has anyone ordered from corksport before?

I've got an order for clear corner lamps for my 97 right now. It's been a week and a half so hope to get them in the next few days. From what I've seen and heard, Corksport is okay and pretty reliable with the orders except for back orders which may take quite long. You can also email Derek, Corksport's resident expert and also a Protegetech member if you have any queries...
