Car Starter and Alarm combo

After 2 yrs of getting into a damn freezing car, I think I've had enough. I think this yr I'm gonna finally get around to installing a remote car starter for my 02 P5. I see a lot of packages out there with the alarm system included. Are these any good? Or is it a better idea to have them done separately? Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on having this installed?

Also, would any part of my warrantee be voided with the installation of a starter?

Any info would be highly appreciated.
