View Full Version : Creaky Sunroof?

Anyone notice that their sunroof is creaky? Mine creaks everytime i hit a bump or the car shakes. Could i have a seal gone? Should i lube the rubber around the sunroof with something? Should i take it in?

FLEX! I'd say put some "back to black" type of rubber renew stuff around the seal. That might lube it up, and if it doesnt, its good for the rubber anyway. Or you can try a mild lube.

Get some silicon spray and wipe it around the sunroof seal.

i find my creaking too
i also find that the motor is really noisy now....
it might be the cold weather though....

I find that the motor sounds a bit &quot;crunchy&quot; when I tilt the moonroof. When I slide it open, the motor sounds okay. The left side of the rubber seal is a bit scratched up from rubbing as the roof retracts. I mentioned all these problems to my dealer, and the service guy says it's all normal. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bs.gif

Unfortunately, I think all moon/sun roofs will fail or need repair at some point ...
