I'll be needing a roof rack for this winter for snowboarding (in the summer for mountain biking).

The Mazda roof racks are $239.70 with our discount.

Does anyone have this roof rack? If so what make rack attachment did you buy for the snowboards (whether it be from Thule , yaki-blah-blah-blah, or etc. Also how much did it cost.

This is my first time buying a roof rack. Does anyone have any economical suggestions?

Maybe a group buy of 10 racks might be in order so we can get the racks cheaper.

I was looking into that last year.... the thule rack with adapters i was quoted 500$ same for that yaki.... stuff. The cheapers way to go would be Canadian tire crap for 200$ with adapters etc. I will be getting one soon. I just need to make up my mind now do I want to go cheap or not. Mind you when you go the cheap way you might scratch up your car. I dont care but your cars are new.

pops had a cheep-o rack on an old car of ours.

the hub that was supposed to lock in my bikes front fork (removed front wheel) was cheep adn flimsy metal, and after a couple weeks, it bent, the bike tipped sideways, and one of my forks punctured the roof of the car. (not like all the way through, but fairly deep into the metal)

i'm sure most racks are better now, but for the most part i trust thule... most of my bike geeks use it.

no ideas on costs or models or whatever, but just thought i'd open my big yet unusually tiny mouth yet again.
