mazdamotorsports.com ... but you have to be signed up with a team support number.
corksport.com should also have them.

How much are we looking at, coz we are DOHC, i guess we have two cams, and how much they will gain, i hear that let for a sigle cam is 10 -15 hp, what about 2?

JDM Sport20 intake cam: 10-12hp
Mazdaspeed exhaust cam: 10-15hp

of course, these are CLAIMS and will probably not be realized. if it were so, everybody would be getting them. they run about $170-$180 USD each... so about $600+ CDN for them. again, you need to install them, so that's extra $$$ unless you're ambitious and can install them yourself. if you can, try to find those Tri-Point Engineering cam gears, that way you can advance/retard timing to get better gains.

again, i said CLAIMED hp, not realized hp.

i'm sure you will get gains, but not 20-30hp. i don't want to speculate, but the best thing is to dyno your car before you get them and after you get them.

cam gears are the gears that are connected to the camshafts. they control the timing of intake and exhaust - air in and exhaust out.

if you don't know how this sh!t works, go to HOW STUFF WORKS (http://www.howstuffworks.com)

Before you order the cam gears I have heard about fitment issues. These are not a direct fit. Secondly these cams won't net you anywhere near 30 hp even at the crank.

Cams are available thru Marcor...My M. dealer has them on their demo P5.

I would also sugest waiting until you need your timming belt changed OR getting it changed at the same time...

They dont give you the HP they say they do. If you reprogramed teh computer they might. I'd only spend the money again if i was doing other head work.

Interesting. I assume by "M. dealer", you mean Mazda.
My Mazda dealership, a toprotege sponsor and also a Miata club sponsor, said the cams are a waste of money. Or, more literally, little return for a lotta money. Doesn't seem they're interested in selling or installing any.
However, some people in this forum have indicated on several occasions that dealership personnel "know nothing". No comment on that.

the cams are not a waste of money.... they can give significant gains through proper tuning (better cam gears, port and polish, ecu/piggy back fuel computer, etc...) if they were a waste of money, they wouldn't be in the JDM FSZE engine....

how much do the people who sell cars know? that's a vague questions.... can't say they know nothing, but you can't say they know everything. the only way you can tell is to go talk to them face-2-face. in the first 2 mins, you'll see if they know anything about aftermarket or if they're just talking BS....

I would advise against them in favour of getting a custom set. With a custom set you will see larger gains and probably save some $$.
