picked up a set of awr motor mounts and am about to install the front one myself. As I'm waiting for the engine to cool dowm, is there anything I should know about the installation or is it a simple swap? should I support the engine with a jack or can I just replace the mount? those kinda things. Any input would help.
Thanks

depending on exactly which threads you got, you may be able to use the stock nuts. if the nuts are included you might need to pick up a couple of washers. There is no need to support the motor, but taking out the intake and getting at the top bolt from above will make your job WAY easier.
Edit: a breaker bar will help as well. If you're westside and don't have one, you can borrow mine. I'll PM you my number.

Front one is easy, you can do the whole thing from under the car if you remove the plastic splash guard on the drivers side, no need to remove the intake.
However, this becomes tough if you can't get the car very high off the ground.
I didn't need to use washers on my front AWR mount, the included locknuts were enough.
Engine doesn't move enough to become a worry, you can wiggle it around by hand to line up the bolt that goes through the mount.

I'm sure it is, as long as they are tight!

i didn't know how tight to torque them down to
so i just did it to 70ft/lbs which felt tight enough

don't worry about which nuts you used. depending on which batch of bolts AWR used, you either got nuts included if it wasn't the same thread as stock, or you didn't get nuts if your thread is the same as stock. Ya Doug, I did mine from above because the car wasn't jacked up, and it was quicker to remove the intake... but you're right it can just as easily be done from below.

yeah, I did it Tiwings way and found it very easy. I just unscrewed the bolts from the bottom even though my car is lowered I didn't have a problem. then I undid the one on top with a extened wrachet and the new one slip in very nicely. thanks Kevin for all your help.

Now I know why no one wants to install the rear motor mount. I got it installed the dealer. Now it feels like my car has a 500 cubic inch motor. I hope I get used to it fast.

It will settle in a bit after you drive it and you will only really notice the vibration when you start the car. At least that is what I found. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

After one month, you won't even notice it...

I've already started to get used to it. the start is still really noticable but i like it and I'm used to it when I drive already.

The best sound is the tranny at 2000 RPM in 4th.

Yeah, I was actually really really surprised to hear that. It's a nice wine and is pretty loud.

I installed the AWR front mount last night. It was used (10K on it). I really like the improvement in 1st gear starting!! Not much bad ass jerky wheel hop.
Only drawback is the rough vibes at idle. Feels like an old truck :)

I hear its really bad!
Those are the solid mounts, doesn't anyone have just polyeurethane to replace the rubber.
