Crappy tire and apc...

Okay, I don't know if this is a common thing, or just in specific stores, but I noticed last night when I was in my local Crappy Tire Automotive section, that they've got quite an extensive (for a crappy tire) mod. section, including APC intakes/mufflers, etc.

So, my question is, what's the verdict on APC's products? Are they in line with Ractive, or worse, or better, or what?

By the looks of their website (www.4apc.com (http://www.4apc.com)) they don't have anything for the Pro5, although they have a picture of the puzzle Pro5 in their background images for their products pages (go figure).

But, if they're planning on, or DO have stuff for the P5, and I can get it at my local Crappy Tire, that's likely the lowest price I'll find it... so, what're they like?

(Yeah, okay, they're being carried at Crappy Tire, that should answer my question right there... but I figured I'd ask anyway...)

In my opinion APC makes low-mid quality stuff but it's priced competively. I have a set of Eclipse bumper lenses (modded to fit my Pro5) and you can tell that the quality is not the best. The seals are not air tight and the mirrored part of the lenses is not a perfectly flat polish. They quality of plastic used also leaves much to be desired. I see APC the same way I see Ractive stuff - pretty much dislike it. You'll find some parts are a good value and others just suck. I would never get an APC performance mod just because I think there is much better stuff out there although the other stuff could cost more.

If APC came out with clear tails though, I would buy them in a heart beat cause I don't think APC's taillights look all that rough.

Oh and NOTHING IS WRONG WITH CANADIAN TIRE!! I don't know why CT gets dumped so much on the board. I love CT and buy a lot of stuff from them - the bonus coupons are also sweet!

Crappy tire is Crappy.........but that's what i like about it.....do you want that store to be clean? well managed? I don't think so!! It make it easer to stuff expensive items in a windshield washer box and pay 12.00$ for a 100$ buffer.......but i would never think about doing that.....nor would the toronto protege club

Serously Toronto Portege club does not endorse stealing....me on the the other hand can take a blind eye to a few things...lol

I don't mean to rip on CT... I've just called it that ever since I can remember... I also find it funny that they tried to sue a guy who had registered www.crappytire.com for trademark infringement...

Besides, they ARE the #1 reseller of aftermarket parts in Canada, so they can't be all bad... and I was actually impressed that they have started carrying 'Peformance Tuning' Parts. I just didn't know about APC...

At one of the recent car shows i visited they had the APC civic and on the stand they were distributing skid loads of these canadian tire catalogues. It was amazing what things Canadian tire has for aftermarket, everything from lights to Super chargers. I was amazed! As for the quality, Eaton Superchargers were listed, which i don't think is your 'run of the mill' supercharger (i could be mistaken!http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. So my point, Canadian Tire can't be as crappy as it seems. I mean the buildings keep popping up all over the place i think it's beating out Tim Hortons (ha!http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif I would think they have quite a larger influence when it comes to buying power. So if you like the products they have, go and buy it. I think most people couldn't tell the difference anyway and if you save a buck or two more power to you. You could probably get it for free if you ask Nick to help you out! hahah....

What CT has ugly chicks at the cashier desks?! Not in the WESTSIDE! When I go in to buy stuff and it's time for me to pay I will stand at the front and pick the best looking girl to finish my purchase. Although the line might be longer at this "hot girl's" line I wait for her to serve me. The thought of her hand gently brushing against mine as she passes me my Canadian Tire money gives me the chills.
