Avatars....

How come .gif's are not permitted as avatars?

Can this be changed?

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that allowing .gif's would open the door for large animated .gifs, which take forever to load on a page. .. if you're looking to simply have a picture that is currently a .gif, most image editing software will allow you to save as .bmp, .jpg, or .png ... if you don't have anything to convert the format I'd be happy to. PM me if you want ....

But the question still remains, can this be changed ....

You're only allowed to do that after you reach a certain post count. I think it's something like 110 posts. Once you get to the set number of posts, it will show up in your profile section.
