I would like to know the right size of tire to be used with 17 inch rims and the proper wheel offset for my P5.
205/40/17 or 205/45/17
ps my p5 is 1.5 inch lower/APEX springs f/r http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

205/40 is a better fit for the P5.
You will need a rim with minimum +45 offset if it is 7" wide
Minimum +48 if it is 7.5" wide.

I agree with Rowan. However, I have opted to go with the 45 profile tire. For a few reasons.
1. Fills the wheel well more.
2. More air for more protection and a smoother ride.
added benfits (but ones I don't really care about)
3. Less KM accumulated.
CONS:
1. A little higher off the ground.
2. A little less acceleration due to bigger tire.
I'll be sticking with a 45 series tire on my summer rims (I also have Eibachs) my wheels are a 17'' 47mm offset and 7inch wide.
