I was at this shop checkin' out some racin' seat...
they told me if i wanted the Red Rally Type Tenzo R Reclining Sport Seat (http://www.mmrusa.com/tenzo.htm) it will cost me
$700 for seat/rail and installation.....is this a rip or worth it??
cuz the seat itself cost only $250USD....if u think it's a rip..can neone refer me to another place??

For $700 you can probably get a Sparco instead of a Tenzo (unless you like it better).

For the seat rail, as far as I know there isn't one for a P5 yet. Did the shop say they are gonna modify your factory ones?

Corbeau makes some good ones that may not be that expensive and I know that they are good fit and feal. I want to get a set of those sometime. I think they may have to do some custom work for ya on the rails unless they just brought them out. That price may be a bit steep, I would say shop around before you drop some $$$. No advice on installation shops though.

Sparco is most expensive ... something like 7-900 and 1200 for the 2 different reclining models (Milano and Torino). Momo is probably pretty expensive too.

Corbeau seats look pretty good and are cheaper. In the $600 range. You can get them at BC Auto & Design if they have them in stock. Not sure how they are for ordering stuff on demand. Corbeau seats are actually used in motorsports so they should be well made.

Recaro seats are also an option. Not sure on the prices though, but probably more than Corbeau.

$700 for a Tenzo-R seat is definitely a ripoff. Maybe $400 at the most since I don't see them actually being used in any motorsports, or having any history of developing quality seats.

Any decent seat manufaturer should have an adapter for your model of car .. hopefully http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Will do. Just found out Performance Improvements is the GTA retailer for Recaro seats. May be worth checking with them about prices/models, etc.
My legs are damned sore after the race and driving back and forth today. I just can't seem to find a position that is comfortable with the stock seats...

Corbeau's top models would be the A4 or CR1, btw.

I know BC Auto &amp; Design has them too, but that shop above is what the Corbeau people told me. Never heard of that shop, but might be worth checking out.

The only reason I don't like Tenzo-R is that it seems their products are just ripoff/copies of everyone else's stuff. And they don't give much information about their products. And they don't seem to have any kind of history in motorsports that I can find. Their products are all too Honda-specific and don't get me started on the cheesy &quot;R&quot; in their logo.

It seems to me that their products are all show &amp; no go.
Of course I could be wrong.

That said, those Rally seats do look pretty nice and they even have guides for a 4-point harness. I would have to see them in person to see whether they are good quality and stuff. Because I think for $600 you can get Corbeau seats.

Anyway, if you know where I can try them out let me know. Because perhaps there would be a discount if there are three of us ordering the same seats...

If you're looking for Corbeau stuff, definitely contact Jamie @ GroundedConceptz. jamiec@groundedconceptz.com. He's a good contact and can get stuff at very competitive prices. He can also get stuff very quickly. Order it and it'll be in the next day or so.

Prices from Jamie at Grounded Conceptz:
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">
2 seats, With Tracks, Shipping, and Tax

Carrera (CR1) - $1550
A4 - $1450
Targa RS (TRS) - $1450

And they do have tracks specifically for the P5.
[/QUOTE]<span id='postcolor'>

Here are pics of the seats if you like &lt; http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/index.html &gt;

To me those seem like very good prices because it is even cheaper than just the MSRP converted to Canadian dollars. If I could afford them I would buy them this month.

You realize that price is the final price for 2 seats with all the hardware and taxes (and the specific mounting kit for p5)?

I haven't yet spoken to Jason about the kind of prices he was able to find out for Tenzo-R seats.

Good news, Wheels Direct is an authorized TENZO dealer, so the owner is going to investigate the cost to bring them in. To reduce his shipping charges (different size shipment), I promised him that the order would be bigger than just 2 seats. So..... Please reply back with Type, Colour and Quantity.

Timing is key here, so I won't extend this offer to long. I don't want to bother the owner with changing requests. So please consider your inquire a serious commitment to buy. So....if everyone could reply by Sunday Night with TYPE, COLOR and QUANTITY.

I know I have not relayed any prices to you guys, be reassure that it will be a really good price. The only thing that is outstanding from this is installation.
