Dear TOP members,
First, I just wanted to say it's been a great and exciting season for TOP so far! New members, new officers and lots of events and social gatherings have really brought this club together this season. Congrats to the winners and the club for their outstanding exposure, presentation and professionalism shown at DKN6! We've had many successful events thus far and we wish to carry on this success for the events planned for the remainder of the year.
A review of previous events have lead to the planning of this event. Many of the events have been to meet up, hang around, talk and show off our cars. But this event is going to be different. This event will bring together teamwork, competition and creativity into one package. The official TOP August event will be the <span style='color:red'><span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'>TOP PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT!</span></span>
We are going to do what the members of a car club love to do best, drive our Proteges! And since so many of you have digital cameras and love to take pictures, this will be an event you won't want to miss. This will be a competition between teams for CASH! So the more teams that register, the more you'll have the chance to win!
<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>Photo Scavenger Hunt Event Details:</span>
When: Sunday, August 22nd, 2004
Start time/location: Yorkdale Mall, north lot, adjacent to the 401 @ 10:00am sharp.
Finish time/location: Shoeless Joes (3200 Dufferin St North York) across from Yorkdale mall @ 3:00pm.
Entry fee: $15 per team (or $5 per person)
Prize: CASH! The more teams, the more cash!
The Photo Scavenger Hunt List:
Ahhh... the list. What's on it? You'll have to find out by signing up! I have enlisted some of the officers to help me out on this list. We're brainstorming and using some of our creativity and weird sense of humour to come up with this thing. It's actually growing in size and will most likely be capped off at 100 items. Of course, not every item has to be collected. To make things more interesting, all of the items are given a point scale, higher the points, the harder the item is to collect. Of course, the most daring and best teams will strategically plan a route to get these items first. Remember, there are NO boundaries as the items can be collected anywhere and anytime during this event. This list will be given at the start of the event after reading the rules and going over final details, making sure everybody knows what they're doing.
Official Rules for the Photo Scavenger Hunt:
1. Maximum three (3) people, per team, in one (1) car.
2. Submissions from one (1) memory card only. A backup camera is allowed but must be used only if the main camera fails, dies, doesn't work, etc. If you have a small memory card, make sure your teammates have theirs for more storage.
3. Each item collected is designated an amount of points, and only one photo will count if there are duplicate items.
4. At least one (1) TOprotege.com member must be in the picture with the item.
5. An extra ten (10) points awarded everytime the team car is included in the picture with the item and member.
6. The team with the most accumulated points wins (there will be second and third place finishes as well)
7. Teams must meet at the finishing point at the latest 3:30pm to submit photos.
8. Abide by all traffic laws as stipulated by the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. All photographs must be taken in a lawful way. Getting arrested is not worth points.
10. Editing the pictures is strictly prohibited.
11. Nothing can be paid for.
Note: I have talked to officers and some have said that they want to participate in this event. So they DO NOT know the items on the list. Other officers that are helping me plan this are NOT participating because they know the list. I am keeping this fair for everybody. This thread will be moderated for clarity. Please post if you are coming. Do a little organizing and post your name, what team you are on and a team name (remember maximum 3 people to a team riding in one car).
