ok, so ive had my vibrant intake since the vibrant group meet and have had no problems until today.
i decided that it was a nice day to clean the car, and i opened the hood to clean a bit. my cone filter fell off the intake piping but was safely hanging on some wires http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
n e way, my problem is that the filter is cracked, but shibby's hooking me up.. and the other problem is that the bracket snapped!! so, my question goes out to those with a vibrant intake INSTALLED or previouslly installed, or those with an intake of a similar setup.(i say installed for pictures)
Where SHOULD/DID you put the mounting bracket?
i think ive had mine in a crappy place the whole time

should/can i weld the bracket to the intake and another peice in the engine bay?

dude.. what the hell did u do. lol you could of seriously done damage to the engine sucking up air(& CRAP) without a filter.. its a short ram in take, your not installing a turbo. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

Not 100% sure if the Vibrant is the same as the Ractive, but they have to be pretty close. Here are the pics of my bracket --

I made my own mounting brackets for the Vibrant that I installed in my fiancee's car. I used the "westside" bracket to hold it by the MAF clamp to the nut by the battery, and also made another that goes from the filter clap to the bracket that use to hold the stock air box. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow if you'd like.

Was easy! I just added the one extra bracket and all is good now, doesn't move at all.

Oh btw, the fiancee loves it. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
