I didn't find this out myself until about a month ago, but it actually has the listings of sizes and wattages for all the bulbs in the back of the owner's manual in the Specifications section.

Go figure -- they actually put something useful in there!

To fill in a few that Darren is missing --

Dash - 74 & 194/168 (both types are used)
HVAC - 74
Gear Selector - 194/168 (AT only)

The Sylvania link above is no longer available -- their new bulb selector can be found at:

http://www.sylvania.com/Consume....ntGuide (http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/LampReplacementGuide/)

And maybe someone else can verify this for me -- I have a rear turn signal bulb burned out, and when I went to replace it, it is NOT a 7440 bulb, as every listing I have seen says. The closest thing I could find at Canadian Tire was an 1156 but it's slightly different and doesn't fit.

The manual doesn't have a bulb size listed for the rear turn signal (it appears as "--"). I'm going to Scarboro Mazda in the morning to find out what the hell kind of bulb it is.

You bastards with 01+ sedans probably don't have this problem...

Chris, it's not a 7440 or 1156 for the sedan's rear tail light. The one the group buy for LEDs list a 7506/7(BAU15s).
I have used 1156 in the past by grinding off one of the socket nibs. The depth is right on the 1156, just the offset isn't right to fit the socket.

Sorry to revive this old thread... but I have no idea what the correct bulb number is for my rear signal.. I bought a set which looks identical but the two nibs are straight where the OEM bulb has the nibs closer together... hard to explain... they don't fit! Whats the correct number... i know its not 7440... or 1156... is it 7506 or 7507? Websites seem to use 7506 and 1156 interchangeably.

I believe this is the correct blub (7507?):
