I guess that's the price I pay for wanting better looking headlights. I went to mazda & picked up the H7 adapter (or whatever it's called), the they say that the wiring harness it plugs into is not sold seperately & that it is part of the entire lighting wiring which I would have to buy.
Why did I use aftermarket ulbs? Like many of you, I simply hate the yellowish OEM bulbs & wanted something that was true white light (Like HID's)
I plugged the old harness into the headlight & adapter and all seems well, but I'd prefer to get a new one.
Can anyone hook me up with a new harness?
Also, any tips on what I should be looking for when buying aftermarket bulbs? (wattage, etc)

i fried my adapter b4, and mazda told
me the same thing, but i only bought the
black adapter, and till now, like 6months,
it's still working fine...i'm usin' litec/nokya bulbs
they are both 55W bulbs

Thanks for the replys & the great info, guys!
To be honest, I don't even know the brand of lights they are. I just found them somewhere and, never having a problem like this before, bought them & put them on tha car. I better start paying more attention to the brand & wattage.
Thanks again!!!

well since you probably didn't read my posts on the other boards... I'll tell you now.... ALL plastic light housings CANNOT handle overwatt bulbs... they WILL melt! in addition, they will also fry stock wiring harnesses because they're simply NOT designed for it!
who cares about the "yellow" look... if you put them under a tester, the equipment actually tells you they are white light! in fact all of those mad tyte blue "HID" bulbs produce BLUE light and *not* white light... blue light is BAD... in a nut shell it takes away your vision! you don't see better with them! Here is indepth explaination of why blue is BAD: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/blue/bad/bad.html
here is also why those "super white" bulbs are BS: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech....te.html (http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/superwhite/superwhite.html)
stick with NORMAL wattage, NORMAL bulbs... get osram silverstars if you want something brighter.. but don't complain about the "yellow" look... because they're not designed for looks, but real lighting performance

PIAA's on stock adapters and harnesses. NO PROBLEMS.
you need the adapter to hold the bulb properly in the socket. I have not found a way around this. Also, the prongs on the power side of the adapter are NOT H7. I replaced mine with ones available at crappy tire. Heavier guage wires.
I made the mistake of ordering heavy duty H7 harnesses when I had the Xtreme Force PIAAs in (by far some of the best bulbs PIAA makes). I hacked off the adapter ring and use it as a spacer between the bulb and the spring clip, then connected the H7 Harness directly to the bulb, however I would not suggest doing this as it is very easy to malalign the bulb in the socket, as well as potentially damage the spring clip.
Adapter are 7 bucks each. Stock harness? dont even ask.
