If I transplant the header and refabricate the down tube should I be able to directly transplant the Mazdaspeed Pro's Turbo, intercooler, and intake into the Pro5 engine bay? I understand that I will have to run oil lines and replace the fuel pressure regulator but do you see any other problems I will face?
I value the input of the exterienced tuner only.
Thanks.

After looking at the MazdaSpeed engine up close and in person, your train of thought sounds straight forward. I believe the only thing missing from the equation would be some sort of ECU modification/swap/substitution.
The only other thing that jumps out, is the availability of the parts. There are a dozen rumors flying around the various message boards regarding the ability to order/purchase these pieces from Mazda/Mazdaspeed. Apparently these pieces can only be ordered for those that own the car. They track the pieces using the owners VIN, dealer verification and work order tracking.
Basically, Mazda wants to keep these unique pieces for the people that have purchased theses Mazdaspeed editions. These parts are to only be ordered/delivered for warranty repair/maintenance/accident repair.
I will try to find these links, but I have read this topic numerous times over on the other boards.

You can check with Calaway (did I spell that right)
They are the ones that produce the turbo system for the Mazda Speed Protege. (I don't know if the parts are for sale directly from them)

There really isn't anything that special about the MS turbo system. It runs on a T-25 turbo (our headers can be re-flanged to accept it) and we can use a Probe intercooler.
None of these parts have to be bought from Callaway.

Would u need a new computer? or would it just need to be reprogrammed?

Neither Kurt. If I go Turbo I will go with a basic mechanical system.

Lets not fprget about those injectors, different on the MS. You could always add more to balance it out but it may be a bit of work. The only problem is tuning other than that if you don't go stand alone (big$$http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and if for some reason you get the MS ECU you will be capped at 10psi and then fuel cut off.

This is a bandaide install. You cannot weld the flange onto the header. This will give you problems. That setup will not last 10,000 miles.
Nothing can be purchased from the mazdaspeed as far as turbo related parts. If you want to custom piece a system together, the minimum you should do is get a decent turbo manifold, a new turbo a t3 is the better choice, and a good FMU. Then you can go around junkyards and find a good starion intercooler and take it to a muffler shop so they can favricate the intercooler pipes, brackets and downpipe. Unless you can weld yourself.
If you need any help I would be happy to guide you in the right direction in getting good used parts. As far as downpipes and manifolds, I along with other companies sell these products.
