Has anyone else had a problem with their E-brake light coming on when they brake and then staying on when the E-brake is totally off?

Anyone have any insights to this one?

Yes. In our cars the brake fluid sensor is EXTREMELY sensative. Your pads have worn down, but don't worry you probably have alot left. Mine came on and I still had over 30% of the pads left. Add a VERY small amount of DOT3 fluid to your brake fluid reseviour and your good to go.

Is adding the fluid a good idea?

I would just say keep riding around with the light on and keep in mind to get the brakes checked down the road.

its about about $50 with the club discount to get your brake fluid changed over to Motul at DWM.

just an FYI

Top up your brake fluid (reservoir is located near battery). Add until it is to the "F" mark. Better yet, take it to the dealer.

Bad idea. Top up the fluids...if you don't wanna mess with it, go to dealer to have them do it.

I agree. Your car should never think there is something wrong with the brakes.
Top up the fluid, or get your brakes done if they need to be.

Doug, I topped up mine when it started doing this and that was WAY before we did my brakes at your place. Keep in mind though that I only added a VERY small amount, you don't want to add too much because when you do decide to do the brake pads the fluid will over flow when you push the pistons in.

If you're really worried about fluid overflowing when you push the piston in, use a turkey baster to suck out fluid when it gets to the edge of the reservoir.

I think that's hardly a concern compared to the problems that could be caused by having too little fluid in the reservoir.
