Is it any worse when you've got it blowing out the floor vents?
If so, are you sure it's not your feet? http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Seriously, my feet sometimes get pretty rank, and if the blower's blowing hot air down at the floor, the stank permeates the whole friggin' car. http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
If not your feet, look under the hood for dead mammals. >http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I was gonna say...check for animals, or parts there of? I know it sounds gross, but that could be just it! Other then that, not sure what your interior is like, but if it has been damp for a while it could be your carpet?
Have you just recently noticed this?

check your breath.
sometimes you don't even know it and your stank-ass mouth will just knock you out.
so keep a pack of tictacs for those emergencies.

on a serious note guys....the smell comes from the airconditioning unit.....condensation builds up on the cooling fins in your vent system and can grow mouldy.....the a/c unit does activate year round even when you don't turn on a/c, when you defrost the windsheild, the a/c helps to dehumidify the windsheild (therefore defogging it as well)...anyway, bad smells coming from the vents is usually caused by this
a way to remedy this is to spray some stuff you can buy at Canadian tire (in the auto section), this stuff kills the mildew forming in the ventilation system...you spray it into the vents outside the car in front of you windsheild and under the wipers...turn the ventilation on full blast and try all the settings while you spray the stuff...this will cleanse your vents and rid the smelly odours.....as a quick fix, you can use bacteria killing deodourizers such as Lysol or Wizard (actually works kinda well!http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Hope this helps! http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

yeah, thought 'bout animals in the engine, but i park mostly inside, anyways, that has been checked... and no, it's not my smell http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
think i'll just try cleaning the vents... will keep you posted http://toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif thnx for the solution wrpfctr6... didn't know how to do that... as long as i don't have to open-up all the hoses in the engine, it should be easy to do!

it's real easy to do....and this is what dealerships do to solve the commonly asked question "the vents have a really bad odour when i turn on the heat/aircon"...we use a really powerful deodourizer and bacteria killer.....i clean my vents regularly, cause i can't stand the a/c stinkin up!
Just spray into the vents on the windsheild cowling while the the fan is on at full blast....this will let the system suck all the deodourizer to kill whatever is inside!.......let me know if it solves your problem!

Guys when i bought my P5 i got that funky smell too especilly when i turn on my heater actually the dealer told me that since it was a brand new car they put an undercoat under the car and also in the engine bay so when the engine gets hot it gives this funky smell but after a month that smell was gone...so im just wondering if that could be your problem as well ...correct me if iam wrong raymond.

In the P5 promotional material I got it said not to park under trees cause the birds might shit in the vents and cause it to stink http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I know you said you mainly park inside but maybe ones you parked in the shade a bird made a poop:)
hehe I said poop!
